We absolutely love this bed! once we brought the new baby home my 2 1/2 year old son refused to sleep on his own and moved into our bed. We have one of those transitional cribs but he refused to be in the toddler bed. After many sleepless nights we decided to purchase this as his "BIG BOY" bed. From the moment the delivery man dropped it off and my son saw the box he was excited. Unfortunately this box weighs a ton so my son had to wait till daddy came home so he could bring it in. The minute he heard the door opening he was pulling daddy to help him get his car in the house. We put it together right away, and thanks to several reviews had the knowledge to *1). Put the stickers on before assembling (it's easier to work on the parts when the car is lying flat. *2). There is not enough support, all that is provided are 3 lightweight studs for the mattress to sit on, so it is best to get a plywood sheet 1/2" thick is the minimum I would go with have it cut to 39" x 75". *3). Purchase just the mattress if you are afraid your child will roll off as is likely to happen if this is a transition bed (little ones sleep like helicopters). Since getting this bed my son returned to sleeping on his own, actually can not wait to go to bed. Absolutely love this bed!!! There is a smaller toddler version but for the difference in price the twin will last longer.

We got this for my son for his 3rd birthday. the look on his face when he saw his new bed was PRICELESS. the bed was easy to put together, but the decals were a pain to get on just right. He loves his new bed and has slept in it every night. Ours shipped for free directly from little tikes and was at our house in about a week.


3.) HOW TO APPLY DECALS

I read the reviews and noticed many of you are having difficulty applying the decals. Here is a little trick I learned while restoring cars. Remember the Trans Ams with the giant Firebird on the hood, well this is how we applied those decals, and they cost more than this whole bed, and is the method I used to apply theses decals to my kids bed. First, do not wait until Christmas Eve or the day before you are going to give the gift. I promise you'll be in such a hurry you screw it up. Second, do it by yourself when everyone else has gone to bed, less interuptions and I promise you do not need your spouse looking over your shoulder barking out directions.

Apply the decals with the bed disassembled. I promise it will be much easier.

Fill up a sink almost full with warm soapy water. It doesn't need to be bubbling over on to the floor, just a little so the water feels slick. Use warm water so your hands don't get cold, you'll be much happier.

OK, using a razor blade, cut out a piece of the decal that is not going to be used, ie cut off a corner that is not part og the printed material. This will be your practice piece. Use a razor blade because scissors get gummed up with the adhesive. Now take the piece to the sink and peel the decal off while holding it underwater. Once you have removed it from the backing, take it out of the water and place it anywhere on the bed (I used the nose becasue it was big and flat). Then take a dry, soft cloth, and wipe the excess water off the top of the decal. The slowly, using light pressure, work from the center out to the edges. This will squegee the water out from underneath the decal. Walla, ity's done. Peel it off, trash it and practice a few more times before you try it with the real Mcoy.

Tips:
-Do not rub to many times with the cloth or eventually you will start to rub the sticker outside coating off.
-On the large stickers, work from the center out. You may see some bubbles under the decal. The goal is to work them to the edge to get the water out. If it doesnt work, get a pin, and pop the bubbly like a zit and push the bubble edsge to the pinhole,l the water should squeeze out.
-The decals over the rear wheels are the most difficult. Start with the largest one and work out. Do the side of the car that will be away from the bedroom door so if you screw it up your friends won't laugh at you when they look into your kids room. Just make sure you get it right on the other side.

Just remember
1. Your kid won't care if it's not perfect. He'll only think your the greatest parents in the world for getting them such a cool gift.
2. You can't see both sides at the same time so it does'nt matter if they match exactly.
3. I have restored about 100 cars and never had one come out perfect. The only person who will notice the slight imperfections is you, because you did the work. If your concerned see #1

Nice bed. Looks great. Fits both mattress and box spring. Much better than the step2 racing bed that I also own for similar cost. Step2 bed does not hold a box spring and the twin mattress sits too high blocking some of the esthetic appeal of the bed. Quality of constuction is slightly better on the Cars movie bed.

I've had this bed for a month now & let me tell you it is awesome! It came in a large box that the delivery guy just threw in my living room--but it was so easy to assemble that I had it all put together the same night! I am a 23 year old single mom, and I was a bit worried about getting it put together, but it was probably the easiest product to put together that I've bought for my son or my house!!! My son absolutely LOVES it (he's 3), and pretty much I'm the coolest mom ever. His two cousins (age 3 and 7) loved the bed too, and just in the month since he's had his bed, he's had 4 sleepovers!!! So if you're having any doubts, just get it! It has two levels that you can place the mattresses on, so if you still are worried about your kid falling off, you can place them on the lowest setting and there is space left on the sides that serve as rails.

My 2 1/2 year old daughter LOVES Lightning McQueen and this bed is absolutely perfect!! No problem putting it together, only took about 20 minutes. But, took about 3 hours to put on all the stickers the correct way. Other than that, no complaints!!

My almost 3 year old son LOVES the movie cars and was having problems sleeping in his crib - climbing out, not wanting to sleep, etc. The Lightning McQueen bed solved the problems! He is thrilled & was so excited when we got it together - which was very easy. The stickers can be a little tricky, but overall it was a snap. Make sure you measure your space - it takes up a lot more room than a conventional bed.

I got this for my son a few months ago when he was almost 2 1/2. He had no problem transitioning from crib right to this bed. He really loves it. I read a review about the gaps between the mattress and the frame being a little large. There is enough room for a small child to put their feet, legs, arms in the gaps but it hasn't been a problem for my son. It was easy to put together, really easy. I made the mistake of assembling it in the living room and had to take it partially apart to move it into the bedroom though. The stickers are terrible... just becuase they are really hard to get on right. There were air bubbles and creases and things. Anyways, it's a good bed.

We bought the Little Tikes Lightning McQueen twin bed for our youngest, a boy of 2 years old. It happened on a bit of a lark.

We noticed that, while he still fit in his toddler bed, he was happier in a regular adult size bed (we spent several weeks bouncing between Disney hotels and other SoCal haunts this summer).

We started looking for a Costco bed set or something that would be durable and accomodate his need for little bed rails as well. Simultaneously, he watched the movie "Cars" every day.

While browsing for ideas, I found this crazy looking bed. I discussed it with my wife and then checked for several days to see where I could get one.

I found no stores that stocked them, so checked prices and shipping for several days. In the end, buying from Amazon.com wound up the second lowest overall (something just under $[...] including shipping), I ordered from them for the peace of mind.

Upon arrival, our son was climbing on the box and trying to sleep in it before it was assembled. Overall assembly took less than an hour (although we have not, as of yet, applied the stickers). Stickers or no, he does not care.

It is sturdy and durable, and ever provides a reason to climb into bed. My wife has been getting more sleep since the purchase.

On a related note, I wanted to complete the garage feel for the room, so I went to Sears and purchased two rollaway toolboxes (four drawer models)to replace his dresser and a shop stool to replace the glider/rocker.

The room has become the talk of the neighborhood kids and our friends from church. Best of all, when he gets bigger, I get two more tool chests for the garage.

We could not have found a better solution. The complete room cost under $[...] and could probably survive being dropped from 20,000 feet (our son is kinda rough on things).

The bed has two height levels and can be used without a boxspring. I cut a Sheet of 3/4 plywood to size for the mattress to sit on. This yields about 4-8 inches of car-shaped don't-fall-out-of-bed encouragement.

This is a great great product for young boys and other fans of the "Cars" movie.

This bed arrived on time, was easy to assemble and put the stickers on. The only (and a BIG problem!!) is that we did not receive the correct stickers. We received duplicate sheets of some items and none of the others. Therefore, my son's bed has only one side (the side against the wall unfortunately) which is complete.

I contacted dreamtime (the suppliers) who were prompt in their repsonse that it was not their problem and I should contact the manufacturers!!

I don't think this is acceptable and am waiting for them to get back to me with a better suggestion!

If you do buy this bed, I wouldn't recommend buying it from Dreamtime and I would suggest you check all the packaging before signing for it!

We purchased this bed for our two year old and he absolutely loves it! He finally sleeps through the night on his own and it's all thanks to this bed. The shipping is expensive but Amazon's price with shipping was still better than all the other places we looked -- online and in stores. We recommend this bed to anyone whose kid loves cars! We only put in a mattress so it sits lower than pictured but we don't have to worry that our son will roll off. He can get in and out pretty easily and loves to bring all his cars to play on the car bed. The bed is plastic but feels pretty sturdy and I don't feel like it will break when I climb in with my son.

Our son absolutely would NOT sleep in his own bed, until we received our McQueen bed. It's pricey, but sooooooooo worth it!!! Recommendation, if you're purchasing a new mattress and box spring, make sure that the mattress is NOT a "plush" or "pillowtop". We bought a brand new mattress at Sams and they had a plush version and a 'cheaper' model. We liked the plush version, but realized it was probably too tall to fit in the bed. Sure enough, the cheaper mattress fits better and our 3 year doesn't weigh enough to need a more expensive mattress. The bed itself is super easy to put together, just make sure you space the slats out far enough to support weight on all areas of the bed, so no tipping happens. The decals were easy for me. There's a LOT of stickers and you just have to really focus on where they should go. It only took about 30 minutes to put them all on. I recommend this bed for ANY parents having trouble getting their little ones to sleep alone! They fit IN the bed, not ON the bed, so they feel more secure!!! Best thing we've ever bought for him!! A++++++++++++++++

Pros: *Easy to assemble. It came in 4 large pieces, the tires, plus the decals.
*Pretty sturdy
*very vibrant and true to the actual character.
*Quick delivery
*Good customer service (more on that later)
*Will be easy to disassemble when we move
*The sides are high enough so our little guy doesn't roll out ( he sleeps like a spinning top)
*There are no sharp corners or edges on it. The bolts used to hold it together come with little caps to put over them so they blend right in and don't become obljects of interest for little fingers.

Cons:
*The box thaclipboard and on the copy of the receive slip I had to sign. There was NO WAY I was going t this got delivered in was MASSIVE. It touched our ceiling. I thought the bed would be broken down more but its just 4 large pieces and the tires. Also, I don't know how everyone else's was handled, but the delivery guy was instructed to just leave it on the curb. It said so right there on his shipment slip! There was just no way I was going to be able drag it up to our apartment by myself so he put it on the dolly and did it for me and told me not to tell anyone!!! I was SHOCKED. The thing weighs over 100lbs, I don't know how they expect someone to carry it alone.
* The decals for this bed are a bitch to apply. They are very large and very sticky and hard to line up just right. Air bubbles are nearly inevetable but if you take your time and go slowly, it will turn out just fine. It took me about an hour to do them all. I would also suggest doing all the decals BEFORE you assemble the bed. It's much easier to have the pieces laid flat to put the decals on.
* Once I had applied the decals and was ready to put the thing together, I discovered that the holes for the bolts were too large and would never hold the bed together. I called Little Tikes and they asked for the product number and shipped us new bolts, no questions asked, no exta cost. The girl was so friendly and helpful, but she told me her son's bed didn't even HAVE holes for the bolts, she had to drill them herself. She said we weren't the first ones to call with this problem so just be aware that you could have the same issue.
* Its much larger than I thought it would be. This isn't nessecarily a bad thing, I suppose I just had a different size in my head.Be sure you have the room!
* The three pieces of wood they send you to support the mattress are NOT going to support the mattress by themselves. Go get a piece of plywood to put under there also. We went 2 inches thick and 39x75.


Overall, we're pretty happy with our purchase. Our son actually puts himself to bed because he's just SO excited to be in it! It was fun for all of us to decorate his room to match his new bed and its really a cute center piece for the room. I'm giving it 5 stars because despite the minor hiccups we had along the way, the end product brings our son so much joy that it makes the hassle totally worth it! If you've got a McQueen super fan like us, this bed will not disappoint!

The Lightning McQueen twin bed is awesome!! My grandson loves it and couldn't wait for us to get it put together (he was playing in the middle of it as we were assembling it.) Other than the tedious work of putting the stickers on, the assembly was lightning fast. This is a sure hit for any sports car fan or Disney "Cars" fan. Now I can't wait to decorate the rest of the room. It shipped quicker than I initially expected and when the delivery company called to bring it to the house, they came within the "window" of time that they said they would. I looked all over to try to find free shipping to store sites, etc. but was unsuccessful. Amazon had the best deal I could find overall. I am a very happy customer!!

Bed is awesome. No regrets. My only concern was how long will we be able to use it mainly because how much weight the bed might take. It comes rated for almost 200lb I think and weight is no concern at all. In fact many nights my wife sleeps in the bed with my son for a bit as she puts him to sleep and it is nice, wide, and takes the weight. There are 3 wooden planks to support the mattress and be sure to get a spring box. My son absolutely loves it. The decals are not a big deal to put up and they tend to peel a bit so I just press it back periodically, hopefully they won't just fall off completely with time, but I think it is a very minor concern at this point.

My 3 yr old loves this bed!! He got it as an early Christmas present b/c he's been crawling out of his crib and we didn't want to wait any longer to give him his "big boy bed"!! My husband and I decided to purchase this car bed for our then 2year old son so we could have bed to ourselves again. Well, when it arrived my son was soooo excited to sleep on it that we didn't have to work hard to get him to sleep on it that nite. Very durable, but I recommend using a large plywood to put underneath the mattress for support. The stickers were fun but also tricky. Looks almost exactly like the real Lighting McQueen. Overall, my son and I are very happy!

We got this bed for my son when he was 2 1/2. The look on his face when he saw it all put together, priceless! A year later he still loves it!

We have moved this bed several times. It's very easy to take apart and put back together. The only thing that doesn't hold up are the stickers, especially with little fingers picking at them.

If your little guy moves around a lot, do like we did, only put in a mattress and forgo the box spring. It's like having built in bed rails.

The bed got delivered on Friday, and we are putting it up today. It took my husband about 1 hour to put it all together, including the decals stickers. My son was SOOOOOOO excited he was jumping all over the place and saying: ohhhhhhhhh dad, soooooooo cool :) It was really funny to see his expression. This product is so durable; from reading the other reviews, I would recommend what most suggested, that purchasing a plywood, perhaps the size that would fit a bunkbed, prior to placing the mattress on top so that the mattress is not so high above the frame that your little one falls off. It is pricey and wished it included the mattress for the price. If you order it through Amazon, including shipping you will pay approximately $396.00 depending on where you live of course (we are in Ga). One could always compare Walmart's price which although you may see $300+, you may come out cheaper with Walmart because they have free site to store; this means free shipping directly to the closest location to you and they'll email you once your product comes. Other than that, GO GET IT!!!!!!!!!!! Made in the USA TOO!!:)

I bought this bed for my 2yr old since he LOVES cars. It came in a huge box but the pieces were light enough for me to carry it upstairs without my husband's help. Thankfully I had read some of the other reviews and put the stickers on before putting the bed together. I would rather pay an extra $5 and have it come with the stickers already placed on as it was a real pain to get them perfectly straight. Once the stickers were on, I proceeded to put the bed together and it was very easy to do. Hardly took any time at all. I decided not to get the box spring and use just the mattress with a plywood board under as I was afraid the baby may fall out at night. Turned out great for him. His eyes lit up when he saw the completed bed and started jumping up and down. So cute to watch. I would totally recommend this bed for all little boys that love cars. Since we bought it when he's so young, he should get many happy years out of this bed!

I know that when you get a new bed, everyone lays on it, but this bed, My son's bed, EVERYONE in teh family wants to lay in his bed. He plays in the bed, he sleeps in teh bed, he tries to eat in it. I would have to say without a shadow of a doubt that he loves the bed. Can't send him to his room nemore if he is in trouble, that's his favorite place now. Great buy and WAY Cheaper than Rooms To Go, plu sit is plastic and not wooden. THe stickers where fun to put on and the HUGE box that the bed came in was just another toy for my kids. If your kids like (LOVE) cars or race cars, due them a favor and yourself and get this bed. You won't regret it.

My Son loves his new bed. Cars is his favourite movie and he races to bed now. Great bed, Stickers are a pain but if you do it slowly it looks amazing. The gaps on either side of the twin mattress are a disapointment but we went out and bought plywood to put underneath the mattress so his toys don"t fall down under the bed.

I give this bed a 5 star even though we don't like a few things about it. My son loves the bed and to me that is worth 5 stars.

We bought this bed for my almost 3 year old son, but we all love it! He was so excited to jump in the bed.
--We placed a 3/4 inch plywood board under the mattress to give more support. 39x75 fit perfectly.
--The bed was simple to put together, but the stickers were like handling super glue! LOL Make sure you have it where you want it before you stick it on the bed.
--Definitely put the stickers on before setting the bed up! With the exception of the tire stickers -- those go on after the bed is together because a screw goes right through the middle.
--The twin size mattress does leave a 3/4 - 1 inch gap around the bed, but the comforter filled that in nicely.
--We did not use a box spring. This made the sides of the bed plenty high enough to keep my son from rolling off...and he seems to like the coziness of it.
--It feels very sturdy. My husband layed in bed with my son tonight...and he's 6'2" and 250lbs!! This bed will last a while!

My son's reaction was all I needed to see to know that we made a great purchase.

We bought this bed for our grandson for his 3rd birthday. I had read many of the reviews on here and decided to buy it since our little guy is such a fan of Cars, and he was getting ready to go from a youth bed to a "big boy bed". When the bed arrived (at my son's house) the box was very damaged and upon opening the box, my son found that the bed was also damaged. It was scratched and scraped and, for this kind of money, we wanted a NEW bed in new condition! I went through the process (and it WAS a process) of ordering a new bed and making arrangements to return the first one. The second bed arrived in an intact box. My son put the decals on before assembling the bed, as was recommended by some other reviewers. Unfortunately, one sheet of decals was missing! He went ahead and put the bed together and my grandson was thrilled when he saw it (missing decals and all)! I contacted Amazon about the missing decals and, so far, they haven't sent them. Overall, we are pleased with the bed. It seems sturdy and we got my grandson a mattress and foundation both and it's just the right height. (Some other reviewers had suggested to get only a mattress and a sheet of plywood.) My grandson is happy with his new Lightning McQueen bed and that's really what matters the most!

My 3 year old son has been talking about his new McQueen big boy bed for the entire week. Mom and Dad think its pretty cool too. Seems very durable and looks great. The bed goes together in just a couple minutes as it comes in only 4 pieces but leave some time for the graphics. I spent about about 30 minutes with the graphics mainly because the adhesive on them is about as permanent as it could be so taking your time is pretty important because once you place it there's no getting it back off for adjustments. Up side is our concern over the kids peeling them off seems unwarranted.

Love this bed. Was easy for my husband to assemble. Stickers were a bit tricky to get put on straight but successful. Yes you absolutely need a mattress and box spring. I was surprised to have a pretty larget gap between the end of the mattress and the edge of the bed. The box it ships in is not that big as others indicated. Yes, it's big, but it's a very large twin size plastic bed frame. Our 2 year old son loves it!! He can climb in/out of it himself.

I have a 3yr old son that won't stop talking about his new CAR. He loves it and can't wait till its time to go to bed. As for assembly I placed the stickers on first before I put the car together. But before I placed the sticker I soaked a cloth with water and wiped the area where the sticker goes. Incase you need to remove the sticker it will be easier to remove it. The water will dry up and the sticker will stick.

The packaging size wasn't as big as I initially thought, it was just long and you definitely need a pickup track to get it home. I took other's advice for putting on the stickers on the side that is facing the wall first so that I could do a much better job for the other side. It took me around 1.5 hours to put everything together. I didn't use the spring box, I bought the plywood at Home Depot and had them cut it into 39 x 75 inches instead. Others are right, there are gaps around the bed for twin size mattress and it can be a problem for little kids. I bought a twin size comforter and use it to cover the mattress and fill up the gaps instead. Everything was perfect and most importantly seeing my son being so happy when he saw his bed was priceless!!!

I had a difficult time with finding a mattress that is just the right height. I bought the regular twin mattress with the box springs, but its way to high. It pops out of the frame. My son can easily roll off from the sides!!! I have to return the set and probably get a board and a mattress instead of the box spring. So far, its a great frame. My son is using its as a play yard for now until I get the right height combo of mattress and board!

This bed is great and my kid LOVES it! It also VERY easy to assemble, bu I have two warnings about that: buy some washers (the size of a nickle works best) otherwise it's very easy to over-tighten the main screws that attach the sides to the front and back and have them go right through the plastic. ALSO, put the stickers on FIRST, before assembling the bed (with the exception of the wheel stickers for the center of the tires). I assembled first then ended up taking it apart again because it's SO hard to put the stickers on to a vertical surface. It's hard enough when the surface is horizontal, but that does make it easier. The only part you can't do that for is the tires because there's a screw that goes right through the center of the tire into the bed.

The bed needs more support under the mattress, if a child jumped on a corner of the mattress it might tip - we added that. Also, a child's foot could easily slip between the mattress and the side of the bed which could possibly result in injury. And it would be more fun if it had some compartments to hide things in.

On the other hand, my two year old grandson who loves all kinds of cars and would not sleep in his crib LOVED the bed and was eager to sleep in it alone. My son thinks it was the best gift ever since he now gets to sleep at night.

My 2 1/2 year old loves the bed. He just gets right in when it's time to sleep. We would recommend this to anyone with a toddler. It's a little pricey...probably because it's " DISNEY CARS." But, it's a lot of fun to have in his room. The stickers were not as bad as others have described it. There are clear instructions and it was fun for my my husband and I to put on. It took about 30 minutes. However, having the two of us to put on the stickers were a lot easier than if I had to do it myself. There were some pretty big ones.

My 3 yr old son loves this bed. It took us less than 30 minutes to put it all together (with the help of a cordless screwdriver). My son immediately claimed it to be, "my bed"! We have the mattress sitting on the wooden slats included in the box. Looks really great and the scale creates an amazing presence in the room. We read all the reviews but could not find the inner measurement where the mattress would sit...so buyers beware! A standard twin mattress is actually a little smaller than the inner measurement of the bed which is 40 1/2 inches X 75inches (a standard twin mattress is only 38x74). We had to fill up the gap with a body pillow and some old blankets so my son's arms and legs won't get caught in the gap. In the end my son loves it, my husband loves it...so I'm happy!

My 3 year old just loves his bed. It was really easy to assemble but I would recommend appling the stickers on the sides before you put the bed together. I did this and it was went real smooth. This bed is a little expensive so do some research for the lowest price. I reccomend buying from only a reputable company. That way if there are any parts missing you don't have a beautiful bed with something wrong/missing from it...

It was exciting for my 4 year old to help me assemble it. It took me about 45 minutes to put it together. The stickers took a bit of concentration but in the end it turned out to be good. The matress fits well. The only thing I wish was better controlled was the height. I put the wooden bars at the bottom most slot, but with box spring and mattress there isn't a lot of height left at the side to stop kids from tipping over. If you use the box spring, I don't recommend for younger kids who move a lot during sleep. Overall, my son loves it and it's worth it. Now I need to do the mural in his room and complete it :)

My 2 year old son loves this bed!! We did have to put a board on the bottom, but only because we did not put a box spring so the side of the car can be his bumpers. Highly recommend. Easy to put together, however the stickers took more time to put on....but adds a really nice touch.

our kids are 4 and 2, the boy being older, and they both love the Cars movie. Since our son has been watching that movie the longest he gets credit for being the bigger fan.

My wife and I made the mistake of having both tykes in our bed, or in a crib in our room, since their birth and we knew getting them out will be a challenge.

then comes the Lightning McQueen bed. delivery was prompt, setting it up was simple, but the stickers were a pain. I did take the advice from one of these posts and put them on prior to assembly; GREAT ADVICE! we still took an hour to put them on. (my wife and I have a little Adrian Monk in us and we were trying to get them on perfectly).

anyway, last night was my son's second night in the bed, and so far no fuss no muss! my daughter got moved from our bed, into the crib in our room for the first time as well. they both love the lightning mcqueen bed and i wish we had bought it long ago.

I recommend it to any parent whose kids are Cars fans.

It was fun for us to put it together and paste all stickers on. Through out the process, our 3-year boy was able to prep his mind for his first night sleep along. He still enjoy "family bed" from time to time but he sure feel proud to show his friends how much we love him.

My 4 year old son is the envy of the neighborhood kids. All the kids want to sit in his bed. I would almost consider this a bad thing. One it brings all the kids to my house now and kids I am not sure of how entirely clean they are after being kids, to jump in and out of his bed. Two now I have more to clean up and feed. I guess this is the over worry and trouble of a parent. At least my kiddo is having fun.

As for the bed itself. Stickers, Stickers, Stickers. Better love Stickers, have a steady hand, and a great eye for placement. They have an adhesive that once you put on its a pain to remove and replace. Which we had to do a few times, as we found its hard to get proper placement on CURVED Surfaces. So your Lightning bolt tail can end up in the wrong crevice and not line up. luckily I read a review on here saying to: Put Stickers on first. before assembly. It seems logical and I found useful as moving the pieces into the position to accomplish proper sticker placement would seem impossible if all in one piece. Also we have had for a few weeks now and the stickers seem to be curling up on the edges. Hopefully they will last years, but at this rate we may have to rotate bed positioning so he climbs up on the other side and we will get even wear.

Really Wish they put the stickers on at the Factory. Do they think we wouldn't want the Stickers on it? Or am I going to Pimp My Bed?

Luckily my Wife and I tackled this together and I do recommend a second pair of hands as one will have to place and the other will have to apply pressure like wall-papering and flatten out the bubbles and trust me there will be bubbles.

So stickers done. Assembled bed. Real cake if you have a power tool even better. **Rar Rar Rar** (Tim Allen - Home Improvement Grunt goes here). Now cool bed ensues.

My 4 year old went from sleeping next to mommy and daddy to not wanting us in his room, of course after a nighttime book reading, the same night. He is now a totally independent bed sleeper. Almost sad as he doesn't even wake up early and make the trek into our room for a few more ZZZZZ's anymore. He just wakes us up to play back in his room.

I bought this bed for my 2 year old in the hope that it would entice him into bed and make him stay there. It has done neither so be warned, other buyers had better luck with that result. However my son does love it, but sees it more of a play thing than a sleep thing. We opted for the twin mattress and box set which fits perfectly. We avoided the whole plywood solution. This way later on we can use the base + mattress with another frame or headboard. We also chose the low profile box set which means it is still low enough that the sides stop him from rolling out.
There are gaps between the mould and the mattress but I have simply got a few extra pillows in place to make the head area more comfortable. If toys are hidden down the sides I don't think it would be too difficult to retrieve.
I gave only 3 stars as I feel this is a very average product when it comes to build quality vs price. It is very basic really but doesn't fit together very well. There are only 4 panels to screw together and they don't fit very snugly in place so that was a slightly fiddly process. One of the screw houses was missing on the front panel.
As for the stickers - they are VERY sticky! Be very careful to have them exactly lined up before placing them as it is very difficult to peel off once they even just touch the plastic. I did not put all the stickers on, I thought it was too busy so like the fact you have a choice and it's not 'pre-stickered'. Oh and screw the wheels on the car panel BEFORE applying the wheel sticker :)

My son will love this bed. It comes in a really big box, though, so be prepared. Be very careful taking out the stickers. They are taped to the inside of a second box inside the first one. Mine were actually stuck to the box. I've contacted Little Tikes but haven't had any luck yet getting them replaced. I've been saving the bed in hopes of surprising him with the completed bed. It's been three weeks and still nothing. That's the only reason I didn't rate this bed higher.

This bed was great for all of a week. Our son quickly removed the stickers on the bed, which had taken my wife hours to apply, the second he was allowed back into his room. These stickers were on huge sheets, and sometimes ripped. Once the stickers were ripped off, you can't replace them, so you're stuck with a bright red car bed. It's actually quite large, larger then we anticipated, and it's remarkably light. Our three year old could push it all over his room and get to things he couldn't reach. We kept losing toys to the spaces left between the mattress and the bed itself, and had to often take the mattress completely out to get everything underneath. This item was not worth the time, money and effort for the whole week that it actually looked like the picture. We can't wait for our son to outgrow the thing so we can get something smaller, affordable, and versatile. This product would have been better had they fixed the gap issue, and pre-applied the stickers with a nice coating of clear plastic over it to protect them. Now the thing looks like absolute crap, and it's an embarrassment. No stars if that was even possible.
